I don't know if you've heard that version of his song Idiot Wind, but it is a painfully touching and heartbreakingly beautiful version. It's quieter and more personal than the version that went on the album. Anyway, I did this drawing from Dylan right around his '65 Like a Rolling Stone time. Right after going electric and the whole folk-savior crashed down to a heretic thing. I tried to put that pain and bitterness that i imagine he might have felt in the face of so many "fans" who adored his every word and the way they turned so violently on his artistic decision to be true to his own Muse. This bitterness is so strongly felt in his song "Idiot Wind" but there's also a quiet tenderness that I tried to put into this drawing that the New York session version of that same song has. Hence the title of this drawing.
