To me, this song is an amazingly beautiful and hilariously woven tapestry of images taken from 20th century pop culture history that were juxtaposed with Dylan’s personal experiences with those around him ( “All these people that you mention, yes I know them - they’re quite lame. I had to rearrange their faces and give them all another name.” ) to form a song that makes you laugh, think, and stop in your tracks to marvel at the beautiful way he put words and meaning together.
